Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 245
Tonikaku Kawaii Fly Me to the Moon 245
トニカクカワイイ 245
Spoiler Summary/Synopsis:
Yanagi-sensei and her female senpai-friend have a beer, where Yanagi announces she got married. Senpai opts to buy expensive wine to celebrate. Afterward, Yanagi and her senpai walk home. When pressed, Senpai states that she hasn’t found a man as she still needs to leave home. However, her family needs have kept her tied down.
Changing topics, Senpai asks if Yanagi has told Nasa about her marriage. She has not, but they both agree that Nasa has been of great help to Yanagi. As such, she notifies her former student. Nasa informs Tsukasa with the news. He’s surprised his old teacher notified him since he feels he hasn’t done much for her. Tsukasa is surprised by this. However, she knows her husband is being honest. Thus, she praises him for it.
Thoughts/Review:
Not a lot to say about Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 245 since it was only eight pages. We are introduced to an unnamed senpai character to Yanagi. Well, I’m pretty sure I’ve never seen her, but if I’m wrong, remind me in the comments below. And we learn that Yanagi-sensei and Taniguchi-sensei are legally married, but just haven’t had a ceremony. It pretty much mirrors what happened with Nasa and Tsukasa.
This marriage thing is an element that I’m not as versed on in Japanese culture. I’ve never looked into how common it is for a couple to get married on paper, then have a ceremony afterward. In America, the ceremony and the marriage license happen together…well, for the most part.
But in anime in manga where marriage comes up, I have seen this “paper marriage first, ceremony second” thing several times. So it is possible that this marital process is common. Or, much like elaborate honorific usage in Japanese media, Japanese marriages aren’t as depicted in anime or manga.
Final Thoughts and Conclusion
In the end, Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 245 is just a short chapter, allowing Hata-sensei to touch on the Yanagi-sensei plot thread.
